Experience
I’ve worked in various office roles throughout my career from secretarial and PA roles in the NHS at the “old” Derbyshire Royal Infirmary and for the last 20 years at Rolls-Royce in Derby, where my most recent role was part of a Customer Support Team. I enjoy helping people and doing a job that is rewarding. I’ve always had an interest in health and found the work at the hospital really interesting. Over the years I’ve also studied a few complementary therapies such as reflexology and sports massage. The combination of my work experience and interest in improving people’s health led me to apply for this role.
Job Role
My role is Customer Contact Team Assistant for the Livewell service. Along with other members of the team we are responsible for a range of administrative duties including being the first point of contact for clients, GPs and other health professionals, managing appointments, processing applications and dealing with general enquiries on the phone, by email and through social media.

My passion/interests
Most of my spare time is spent with my family and our dog, Barney. He can be a handful at times but we love him!
We like to travel and enjoyed a holiday to Disney World in Florida earlier this summer. We’d been a few years ago and seeing the Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom again was quite emotional!!
I’m not particularly sporty but I try to do some exercise classes and yoga.
My best achievement
My daughter, 16 (soon to be 17). We’re like best friends and enjoy spending time together – she keeps me young!!
What you might be surprised to hear about me
When I was younger, I did some amateur dramatics for several years with a local drama group. A couple of my favourites were learning to tap dance for “Stepping Out” and playing the female lead in Daphne du Maurier’s “Rebecca”.
My top lifestyle tips
Look after yourself by eating a balanced diet and keep hydrated. Set reminders through the day to have a drink of water. And keep moving … every step counts!
